If you’re new to ultimate frisbee it’s probably best to wait until we start a new beginners course, which happens twice a year. If you’ve got some experience, or want to join for practice anyway, feel free to contact use by using the contact form on the homepage.
What does a membership consist of? What are the costs? How do I cancel my membership? You can find out here!
A membership with UFO means that for a fee you will become a member with UFO, can train twice a week on the fields at the Vechtzoom, and will be registered with the NFB (Nederlandse Frisbee Bond, national governing body of Ultimate). Because of the latter, you are also eligible to participate within competitions and Bond tournaments.
Indoor training, the competitions themselves and other tournaments are not included in the membership fee. You can register to take part in these events throughout the year when they take place, and you will be charged separately for these.
You can also take part in fun tournaments both within the Netherlands and abroad. Costs of these tournaments are not included in the membership and vary depending on the tournament.

* If you want to play at the competitions you must have UFO kit. Kit costs ~ €120 for two UFO shirts and a pair of shorts. This is then your own kit.
* The prices of the competitions are based on the price that the NFB used in 2024. Should the NFB increase the competition charges, then UFO reserves the right to change these prices.
Payment Schedule
At UFO you become a member for the year, even if you only play indoors. The year runs from September up to and including August. If you allow UFO to take a direct debit, then the basic contribution will be paid off once per year. If you don’t set up a direct debit, you will have to pay the yearly contribution and competition fees upfront, even if you aren’t playing them. At the end of the year you will be refunded for all the competitions you don’t end up playing.
You need to cancel your membership before September 1st to avoid paying for the following year. If you decide to cancel your membership in the second part of the year (before February 1st), then there may be the possibility of refunding a third of your basic contribution. A request to claim your money back can be done via the treasurer. You can cancel your membership by contacting the secretary.
You only pay half of the basic contribution if you join in the second half of the year.
Automatische incasso (Direct Debit)
UFO uses direct debit. With direct debit, the basic contribution is paid off in three installments. The costs of the competitions and indoor training can also be paid by direct debit (at the time of registering yourself for the competition). You can only use direct debit to pay for yourself. Should someone else wish to pay for you then we will have to use an invoice. The approval of the direct debit continues until the membership is cancelled.
Want to become a member?
If you want to become a member of UFO, you can sign up via our website on this page. Please fill in all the fields.
Cancelling your membership
If you no longer want to be a member of UFO, it is very important that you cancel your membership. If we don’t know that you are no longer a member, we will continue to pay for your NFB membership fees and for the field hire for you! These costs are naturally also charged to you. If you don’t cancel your membership, this can be financially adverse for UFO.
There are several people who are members, who (temporarily) can’t train for many reasons. Not coming to training does not automatically mean that you don’t want to be a member any more!
So, if you want to end your membership, send an email to the secretary.
Ultimate Frisbee beginners course – scheduled autumn 2024
The spring intro course just finished, but don’t worry, we’ll have another course this autumn.
Costs: 15 euro (4 practices). Sign in by sending an e-mail.
What on earth is Ultimate Frisbee?
Ultimate is a fast-paced and non-contact field sport. Each team consists of seven players (girls and boys), who try to reach the ‘endzone’ of their opponents by passing the disc around, as walking with the disc is not allowed. If a rule is broken, it’s the players themselves who correct each other: the game is played without a referee. To get a glimpse of some real high-level Ultimate, check this video.
Do you need to bring anything?
Bring sport clothes, including a dark and a white shirt, a warm jacket, sport shoes (preferably with studs!) and a bottle of water.
